What is a Psychic Manicure™

To be honest, I don’t know why I came up with Psychic Manicures,,
I thought it would be interesting to get a psychic palm reading while your nails dry at Sènsé. It really was no deeper than that.

I’ve always been deeply intrigued by the spiritual world and people that claim to have contact with the other side. Are they real? Are they fake? Is it a deep philosophical quest, or perhaps just a memory one of my favorite childhood movies, Ghost?



The word ‘psychic’ certainly conjures up images of its own. At least for me, I see images of Whoopi Goldberg in the movie Ghost, where she hustles her way through life by conning people out of their money as a fake medium.

Who are these people? My brain was searching for a way to categorize them: Entertainers? Healers? Con artists? Evil? Good? Clarivoyant?
I wasn’t sure how I felt about them…so my brain endlessly searched for a stereotype it could fit them in. But to no avail. I pushed hard to keep an open mind.

Finally, to put this to rest, and to see if this is something I would seriously offer at Sènsé, I had to seek these answers for myself.

It was a Sunday afternoon. I called up a psychic in Seattle and made my first appointment. “my name is robert and here’s my cell phone…” ( I made sure to withhold my last name in case she knew how to use google and myspace to look up my date of birth, blood type and favorite band).

We met at her office. What she revealed to me next made my heart race, my mouth drop and my brother look at me in shock when the information was discovered.

Our psychic began picking up more information about my mom and dad -and she began to reveal stuff about their personal lives. She said, “Your love and energy for your family is making it easy to read and pick up. Whatever comes to me I will let you know.”

Needless to say, after I left I verified with my mom and dad the information disclosed during my experience with the psychic about their personal matter. They looked at me in horror and disbelief that I had revealed a secret about them.
